Joana is a senior fire engineering consultant with eleven years of experience across Portugal and the UK. She started her career in fire safety in Portugal in 2013 after completing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Protection Engineering at ISEC Lisboa - Higher Institute of Education and Sciences.
In Portugal, she worked for the National Authority for Civil Protection, where she played a key role in assessing fire risks and developing fire safety strategies for buildings. In the UK, Joana’s focus is on delivering fire safety strategies across a range of sectors. Her passion lies in using science and engineering to design effective fire safety solutions that meet both the client's needs and the fire safety regulations.
Before becoming a fire engineer, Joana was a volunteer firefighter in Portugal, giving her valuable insights into building fire risks and safety challenges. Her dedication to protecting people and property defines her career, making her a respected expert in fire engineering and safety.
